Embroidered Shirts
Wondering what type of shirts to use for your uniform program? Stitch Logo has the knoweledge to help you pick the right shirt for the job. The two most important choices to make are fabric content and fabric weave.
Fabric Content
- Dri Fit Polo Shirts are usually made from 100% polyester fabric. When ordering uniform shirts make sure to look for key features: snag resistant, snag proof, UV protection, breathable, color lock and odor resistant. Shirts made from polyester tend to wash easily with no shrinking or wrinkle issues. These type of shirt has an athletic fabric feel.
- Poly Cotton Blend Fabric is easier to care for than 100% cotton fabric. The polyester holds on to color, wrinkles less and does not shrink as much as cotton, but still feels like cotton.
- Cotton Fabric is a more natural fabric. Unless the cotton is treated, these style will tend to fade and need more ironing than blends and dri fit styles. When ordering cotton, choose styles that are treated for skrink, fade and wrinkles.
- New Popular Fabrics are made with rayon for a soft silky feel that drapes well and spandex for extra stretch and range of motion.
Fabric Weave
The weaves most commonly used for blended fabric is pique knit and jersey knit.
- Pique Knit is similar to a waffle weave and creates a fine textured surface.
- Jersey Knit is tightly woven to create a smooth flat outer surface while remaining textured on the opposite side.
